Attendance Policy

Attendance Policy

At Sri Kanna Public School, we believe that regular attendance is the foundation of consistent learning and academic success. To ensure that every student benefits fully from the curriculum and school activities, the following attendance rules are observed:

Minimum Requirement

  • A student must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance during the academic year to be eligible for promotion to the next class.
  • Attendance is strictly monitored, and defaulters may face restrictions in examinations and promotions.

Punctuality in Attendance

  • Students must arrive before 9:00 a.m. daily and be present for the morning prayer.
  • Habitual latecomers will be counseled, and repeated cases may face disciplinary measures.

Responsibilities of Parents

  • Parents are responsible for ensuring their child’s regularity and punctuality.
  • In case of long absence due to illness or other genuine reasons, parents must immediately inform the school.
  • Cooperation from parents is essential in maintaining the child’s attendance above the minimum requirement.

Leave of Absence

  • Leave should be applied for in advance through a written request signed by the parent/guardian.
  • In case of sickness or emergencies, a medical certificate or valid reason must be submitted to the class teacher or school office.
  • Absence without prior intimation or leave application will be considered unauthorized and may invite disciplinary action.

Importance of Regular Attendance

  • Consistent attendance helps students follow lessons without gaps in understanding.
  • It builds a sense of discipline, time management, and responsibility.
  • Students who attend regularly are better prepared for exams, projects, and co-curricular activities.

Our Belief

At Sri Kanna Public School, we consider time a valuable asset. By maintaining punctuality and regular attendance, students not only secure academic excellence but also cultivate a lifelong habit of discipline and commitment.
